This Three Day First Aid at Work Course in Essex is approved by the HSE (Health and Safety Executive) and covers Primary and Secondary Care, and also the treatment and management of emergencies that may occur in the workplace.

FAW First Aid at Work Course in Essex Training Structure:

First Aid Course Training Structure and Duration Participant Workplace First Aiders Student Instructor Ratio 12:1 (Max 24 With 2 Instructors) Course Duration 18 Hours (3 Days) Assessment Skills and Knowledge Assessment Certificate Expiry 3 Years But Now HSE Recommend Annual Refresher, Requalification Training

Understand the role of the first aider including reference to: The importance of preventing cross infection The need for recording incidents and actions The use of available equipment Assess the situation and circumstances in order to act safely, promptly and effectively in an emergency Administer first aid to a casualty who is unconscious (including seizure) Administer CPR Administer first aid to a casualty who is choking Administer first aid to a casualty who is wounded and bleeding Administer first aid to a casualty who is suffering from shock Provide appropriate first aid for minor injuries (including small cuts, grazes and bruises, minor burns and scalds, small splinters) In addition, attendees will learn how to administer First Aid to a casualty with: Injuries to bones, muscles and joints. This includes suspected spinal injuries Chest injuries Burns and scalds Eye injuries Sudden poisoning Anaphylactic shock Recognize the presence of major illness and provide appropriate first aid including heart attack, stroke, epilepsy, asthma, diabetes). There is also an assessment at the end of the course.

The course is over 18 Hours, Three Days and there will be an assessment, for which you will be well prepared. There will be plenty of hands on practice and we have high quality training equipment, so you will leave the course competent and confident enough to deal with an emergency situation should it arise.

It is also recommended by the HSE that the students carry our an Annual First Aid Refresher Course every year to keep their First Aid Skills up to date, and to protect against "Skills Fade". Optional Additions.
We are able to offer training in the use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) as an Additional Module at your request. There is a discounted rate for the AED Course when added to any of our other courses.
